Chairman, Price Pearson Chartered Accountants

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holder of the Corporate Finance Institute qualification, David began his distinguished career in 1970 and has developed Price Pearson Chartered Accountants into a large independent practice.

David has extensive corporate finance experience in the buying and selling of companies totalling in the region of £800 million during the last 20 years and is a recognised authority in tax and revenue investigation management. David has extensive experience of representing high-profile clients with discretion and success and is fully qualified to deal with all probate matters.

Chris Cooper

Chris has been working at Price Pearson for over 30 years. He initially qualified in 1988 and became a member of the board as a director shortly afterwards. Chris specialises in providing tax planning and mentoring advice to larger owned managed businesses, business development advice, finance raising options, R&D tax claims assistance and succession planning. 

He is one of the firms’ Responsible Individuals for Audits and heads up as the Senior Statutory Auditor for this specialism within the practice.

His excellent relationships with clients are second to none, who all value his opinion and expertise in his chosen fields. He is also widely known in the local business community through his charity support work.

Sandra Garrington

With over 30 years of experience, Sandra joined our board at Price Pearson as Tax Director in 2003 following our acquisition of Feltons Kidderminster, where she was a senior partner.

Sandra is a recognised authority across many aspects of taxation including personal tax, partnership tax, trusts, IHT, charities and agricultural businesses, as well as being fully qualified to handle probate.

A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Tax Advisor, Sandra is an integral part of the Price Pearson board, and her friendly, professional approach makes her the first port of call for many of the clients, directors and high net worth individuals across the country that entrust Price Pearson, Sandra and her team with their affairs.

Rachel Common

Rachel has been an integral part of the Price Pearson team for over 17 years. Qualifying in 2005, Rachel is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Member of the ACCA. As our Accounts Director, Rachel oversees the audit and accounts production for owner managed businesses with turnovers ranging from approximately £250,000 to in excess of £300 million. She is also fully qualified to handle probate matters.

Rachel uses this wealth of knowledge and experience alongside David in the extensive corporate finance and reconstruction work that the firm undertakes.

Peter Rayney

Director, Price Pearson Chartered Accountants

Peter Rayney practices as an independent tax consultant. His main specialisms are corporate tax, company re-organisations, corporate finance tax (including company sales and acquisitions) and all aspects of owner managed business taxation.

Peter worked at BDO LLP for nearly 20 years, acting most recently as their National Tax Technical Partner.

He is a widely-recognised tax author and lecturer and regularly contributes to the professional press. He won Taxation's 'Tax Writer of the Year' award in 2002 and 2014 and was shortlisted for the award in 2008, 2009, and 2011. Also, in 1994, Peter won the Chartered Institute of Taxation Fellowship Thesis prize for his thesis on ‘Selling companies for a deferred consideration (with particular reference to earn-outs)’. The firm was also short-listed in the 'Tax Consultancy Firm of the Year' at the 2014 Taxation Awards.

Peter currently chairs the ICAEW Tax Faculty's Technical Committee. The Chartered Institute of Taxation has recently appointed him as a member of its council.

Arnold Homer

Arnold Homer recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), in recognition of his position as a leading national tax expert. Not only fully qualified in probate matters, Mr Homer is a chartered tax advisor, chartered accountant, trust and estate practitioner, lecturer, author and consultant and was a founder and original author of Tolley’s Tax Guide, regarded without exception as the bible for non-tax expert lawyers and accountants, having produced 26 editions.

For 15 years, he was a lecturer in revenue law for the final Law Society examinations. Mr Homer is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and also on the Institute’s Committee for Owner-Managed Businesses. He is a warden of the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisors in the City of London.

Mark Squibb

Mark has over 13 years’ experience as an accountant and tax practitioner and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Mark specialises in providing corporate tax advice to owner managed businesses on a wide range of matters including company reconstructions, capital allowances and R&D tax relief.

Jennifer Long

Jennifer joined the board of directors in April 2017. She began her career with Price Pearson 25 years ago, initially qualified as an Accounting Technician while running the management accounts department. She was integral in the design, selling and supporting of our first software product ‘TaxShield P11D Manager’.

Jennifer then went on to graduate with a Diploma in Direct and Digital Marketing and formed IceBlue and its specialist division, IceBlue Digital. This partnership with Price Pearson has improved technical efficiencies within the practice, communicating technical information in layman’s terms to the board. She is now taking its IT to Microsoft Cloud to ensure it is more secure, more efficient and will make sure the practice stays ahead in an ever changing digital landscape.

Rebecca Mulholland

Rebecca joined Price Pearson in 2012 and became a member of the board of directors in 2023. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the AAT in accounting and finance.

Rebecca specialises in a spectrum of financial domains, from audit and accounts production to navigating the intricacies of tax and revenue investigations. Her proficiency extends to handling tasks related to increased turnover levels and actively contributing to new software rollouts with key solutions for clients. Rebecca is also fully qualified to handle probate matters.

Throughout Rebecca's journey of becoming a director, she has been an instrumental part of the team, dedicated in developing her expertise and supporting our clients in the best way possible.

Luke Brennan

Luke became a member of the Price Pearson team in 2017 and joined the board of directors in 2023. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser while continuously working on gaining further accreditations such as achieving Trust and Estate Practitioner membership. Luke can also handle probate matters as he is fully qualified in probate and estate administration.

His specialisms lie in personal and capital gains tax, corporation tax, trust taxation and administration, estate taxation and administration, corporate restructures and inheritance tax planning.

Hilary Bevan

Hilary has twenty years of experience working in accountancy and tax. She joined a local accountancy firm straight after her A-Levels and qualified with them as a Chartered Certified Accountant before going on to qualify as a Chartered Tax Adviser and an Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation. Having a background in accountancy before specialising in VAT means that Hilary has a unique perspective on how a particular VAT issue will affect your business. Hilary has built up extensive technical knowledge over her years in practice and provides VAT advice on a range of topics from land & buildings to partial exemption. Hilary is passionate about VAT and regularly speaks on the subject, both to accounting professionals and to school children who are interested in a career in tax.
